Put money behind not opening that app.

Donny shields the apps that eat your day. Push past the shield and it costs you — and the money goes somewhere you'd rather it didn't have to.

How it works

Three decisions, then it's out of your hands.

1

Pick the apps

You choose them in Apple's own Screen Time picker. Donny shields whatever you put in it — and set how long the block runs.

2

Pick what a slip costs

Ten cents if you want a nudge. A dollar if you want it to sting. You can change it whenever you like.

3

Pick a charity

Every fine goes to your charity — all of it. Pick from the list, or take the one Donny features that week.

What it costs

Your first three slips are free.

After that, Donny asks you to load a jar. Fines come out of the jar — never out of nowhere.

Jar creditYours. Only a slip takes it. $5.00
ProcessingCard fees, disputes, and getting the money to the charity. $0.80
Total charged $5.80

Both line items are shown before you are charged and on every receipt. The processing fee is how the company makes its money — never a cut of your fine, and never a slip-up.

The rules

No debt. Ever.

The jar cannot go below zero. If a card charge fails, nothing is taken — slips are still recorded, and tracking pauses until it's sorted out. Close your account and whatever is left in the jar goes to your charity, with nothing taken out of it. That part is your own money, not a fine.

What it doesn't do

  • It can't see which apps you picked. iOS hands us a sealed token, not a list. Your choices stay on your device, even from us.
  • It can't read your messages. No app can. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
  • It doesn't fine you by the minute. One fine per deliberate push past the shield, and the price is on the shield before you tap it.
  • It doesn't tell you you're doing great. It takes your money when you slip. That's the whole idea.
